An Iranian in Heaven (theatrical play)
Written and directed by: Houshang Touzie
With: Houshang Touzie and Shohreh Aghdashloo
An Iranian in Heaven (or yek Irani Dar Behesht in Persian) is a socio-political stage comedy about Iranians in Diaspora and their self-inflicted problems. The play is produced by Workshop '79, the Los Angeles-based Drama production company, founded by Houshang Touzie, Iranian Actor and playwright, and his actress wife Shohreh Aghdashloo (Emmy Awards 2009), in memory of the Theatrical and Acting Workshop in Tehran which was shut down after the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
Previous productions by Workshop '79 included "From Satellite with Love" (Az Mahvareh Ba Eshgh), and The Great Escape (Farare Bozorg), both successful hits with the Persian-speaking community outside Iran.
